Taking a Break

Due to deadlines I’m taking a little break from blogging through the holiday months. I’ll definitely be back in January and in February I’ve got a fun lineup of guest bloggers which I’ll be sure to post about beforehand. I’m just so stretched for time lately I had to find a place to cut back.


This isn’t to say I won’t do any blogging over the next couple months but I’m going to be pretty scarce here. I’ll still be blogging every other Friday under my alter ego at Naughty Author chicks and l’ll still be on twitter @katiereus and on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/katiereusauthor) if you want to find me there.


I know the picture has nothing to do with this post but the dog looks like mine (except my baby’s eyes are blue) and it’s super cute!

Updates

Southern Magic's reader luncheon was so much fun! Thanks to Cynthia Eden the drive, which would have been blah, was a lot of fun and I got to meet the wonderful Naima Simone. I blog with her under my alter ego and she's even funnier in person! The luncheon was awesome, I met some really nice readers, and I even came home with a new bundle of books.


I forgot to mention last week that I sold my romantic suspense Deadly Obsession to my editor at Carina. (yay!) Those edits are a little ways off so I'm busy working on book #2 in my paranormal trilogy and I've officially passed the halfway mark. Normally I plot every few chapters as I go but I've actually plotted out the rest of the book. Now I just have to write it :)

On to the Weekend

Over the weekend I'm heading to Birmingham for Southern Magic's Reader's luncheon! Got my raffle basket and goodie bags for readers ready to go! I put them together last night and I must say, they're pretty cute :) Normally I don't like driving too far but I'm going up with Cynthia Eden and I get to meet a lot of really fabulous authors!


Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'd also like to say.... Happy Birthday to my sister!! I've been calling her all morning but she's not answering so my guess, she's sleeping in :) I know a lot of sisters have that rivalry thing going on but we're lucky in that we never had that. We're less than two years apart and best friends!! I only wish I was there to celebrate with her. At least she'll be visiting in a few weeks and I sent her a sweet gift...A box of smoking hot books!

Back to Writing

Now that last week's news has finally settled in (sort of) it's back to my regular, structured writing schedule. When my agent submitted the first book in my paranormal trilogy, I started working on the second book almost immediately. After a month I decided to put it down in case we didn't sell the first because I didn't want to spend all that time on it if the first didn't find a home. Thankfully it wasn't a waste of time! I used that time to finish the fourth book in my Miami Scorcher series (under my alter ego) which I still need to clean up a bit. So, I've got my word count goal for the week and some chapters for book 2 I want to finish outlining.
